Dalby Tutoring Introduces Custom Test Preparation
It seems as if our students' schedules are getting weirder and weirder and so we think the time has come to offer customized class schedules.
Some of our students only have time for a short course and others want to move into the office for long term preparation. What every your needs we hope we can accommodate you.
Here are your choices for preparation for PSAT, SAT, or ACT (or any combination of these tests) . All selections include a diagnostic test taken before the first lecture. All lectures are two hours in length. (Please note if only one student is enrolled the lecture time is one hour. If two people sign up the lecture time is 1.5 hours.)
Crash Course: only for high scorers with little time. Three lectures and three or more practice tests. Cost: $590
Four lectures/four practice tests. Great for high scorers who don't need much review. Cost: $680
Five lectures/five practice tests. Good for high scorers who want to review SAT and PSAT or ACT. Cost $770
Six lectures/six practice tests. Good for students scoring in the low 600s on the SAT. Cost $860
Seven lectures/seven practice tests. Comprehensive review for students scoring in the 500s. Cost $950
Eight lectures/eight practice tests. Well suited to average scorers who want to combine PSAT and SAT prep. Cost $1,040
Here's how it works. Discuss with us your long term goals and we will make a recommendation as to how many sessions you need and what we will review. You set the dates and find two other friends with similar scores.* We will confirm your class times when two others have signed up. Only the lecture times have to be scheduled ahead of time; the practice test schedule is flexible. Because this is a custom schedule there are no free make-ups - so schedule carefully. We reserve the right to add students to the class but the class size is limited to 10 students or fewer.
We will be using either the College Board's The Official SAT Study Guide for the New SAT in class and for practice sessions, the official guide to the ACT or actual PSATs from ETS; we supply these materials. It is paramount that students bring all their materials with them to each session (whether lecture or practice testing) at Dalby. There will be a charge of $20 if a student forgets his book and needs to use one of ours.
* it is especially important that the math scores are within 90 points of each other.
